UST WEBINAR SERIES
W292: YOUR KNOWLEDGE-BASE ISN’T JUST ONE SYSTEM — IT’S ALL OF THEM
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 8, 2022
11:00 AM – 12:30 PM (EASTERN TIME)

For a long time now with associations the narrative has centered around: Bring all our content into one central location and go from there. A more effective approach is to leave your content where it is and let your search tool find it where it lives. When associations define all their content sources as one knowledge-base, the impact can be profound. Their audiences will understand that they are the global information resource and look to them for learning, community, and leadership.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
  • How your AMS, LMS, CMS, videos, podcasts, journal/magazine articles, job board, etc. form your knowledge-base, and that’s a good thing!
  • Explore how the normalization of content and taxonomy — manually or using AI processes — prevents ‘lost in translation’ member (and prospective member!) experiences.
  • Let your systems do what they do best while consumers of their respective knowledge enjoy an aggregated and consistent content discovery experience.

David Schulman
President, Associations Rewired
David is a Digital Transformation Strategist for Associations Rewired, a technology and digital transformation agency for trade and professional associations. David has conceived, launched built and sold two innovative (for their time) technology companies. Having spent the more than 25 years working with associations in technology, David now teaches associations how they can apply their systems to increase non-dues revenue and reverse the aging trend of their membership. By combining Design Thinking, Lean and Agile methodologies into a simple, common-sense process that identify the hidden assets associations can deploy to solve the problems their members face. Prior to launching Associations Rewired, David conceived, launched built and sold two business technology firms. PracticeOne, a cloud-based service provider enabling physicians to document patient encounters and transmit prescriptions electronically during the encounter. PracticeOne also provided the best tools on the market to manage the practice’s back office. Prior to that, Business Engineering, a Microsoft and Citrix partner which I ran successfully for 15 years. When not working with companies on innovating new revenue opportunities, David teaches sailing, guided by the principle that while you can’t change the wind, you can adjust your sails.
